On 2 June 2016, at a gala held in Brussels, our 100% Iberian Ham “Jamón de Bellota 100% Ibérico Alta Expresión de los Pedroches COVAP”, received the "Superior Taste Award 2016”, gaining three stars – the highest rating – for exceptional taste.
The Superior Taste Award is granted annually in recognition of foods and beverages of excellent taste and quality. This prize is awarded by the International Taste & Quality Institute(iTQi), located in Brussels, Belgium. The award is used as a reference for quality managers and is often considered as the “Michelin Guide” of food products.
The jury, consisting of 120 professionals from the 15 best culinary schools in the world – Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, Academy of Culinary Arts, Hellenic Chefs' Association, Académie Culinaire de France, Verband der Köche Deutschlands, Spain's Federation of Chef Associations, Federerazione dei Cuochi Italiana, Årets Kock of Sweden, Euro-Toques, Gilde Van Nedrlandse Meesterkoks, Associação de Cozinheiros Profissionais de Portugal, Craft Guild of Chefs, Turkish Cooks Association, World Master Chefs Society (WMCS) and Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI) – was responsible for trying our product during the tasting sessions held last April.
Our taste, texture and aroma, together with the presentation of the product, received a score over 95%, making it one of the best 100% acorn-fed Iberian Hams awarded three golden stars.
