Pedro Moreno García
Ibérico Pork Farmer
His story: I started work at the age of 15 during the 1960s. My father, Pedro Moreno Cabrera, passed on his knowledge and experience of livestock farming to me, something he had got from my grandfather, Aurelio. My whole family has traditionally been linked to the world of agriculture and livestock farming. I feel like I've grown up alongside COVAP.
For me, COVAP is: COVAP is my home, my whole working life and family life have been completely tied to the cooperative and influenced by it.
His words: Reliability, a spirit of sacrifice, tenacity, a capacity to adapt to changes, these guarantee our future.
Calixto Gil
Antonio Sanchez Romero
Ganadería Sánchez Romero SCP
His story: Antonio started with his grandfather many years ago, hand milking into churns, and he remembers that each animal had its own name, all of which he can still recall (The Butterfly, Canarias, ... ) A fond memory indeed... Before him, there was his father, Victoriano, with his grandfather. He remembers working at night and having to combine this with his daytime work helping with the cows. On returning from military service at the age of 22, he bought the cows off his grandfather and took over the business. Several years ago, his brother José María joined the business.
For me, COVAP is: My home, and I hope that we'll always be able to carry on working to build a future for our members, as we have until now.
His words: "Do something well, and it looks good"
Francisco Gil
Juan Masa Calles
Beef Cattle Farmer
His story: I'm 48 years old and was in the farming world right from birth, as my family were farmers. My father made me take part in all of the jobs he had to do as a crop and livestock farmer, and passed on his know-how as a sort of treasure. After studying in the School of Agricultural Engineering in Badajoz, and following the death of my father, I took charge of the family business.
For me, COVAP is: Guarantee and peace of mind regarding the results of my business. They have defended and promoted the incorporation of our cooperative in Extremadura "Alto Ruecas".
His words: Always put on a brave face!
José Gómez Romero
Meat Sheep Farmer
His story: I've always seen COVAP as my home, and when I inherited my father's membership number, I started working as a farmer with my lamb meat business. I joined to use the feed and I had no doubts about handing over my lamb production for safety and convenience in selling.
For me, COVAP is: For me, COVAP is a guarantee for the future. A serious organization that gives me peace of mind and security, that takes on my problems and helps me to find solutions. In COVAP, I don't feel like a simple vendor of sheep, but rather a businessman who's part of the bigger project that the Cooperative offers us.
His words: Reliability, a spirit of sacrifice, tenacity, a capacity to adapt to changes, these guarantee our future.
Dairy sheep farmer
His story: I started in 1984 raising Merino sheep for meat, but given the instability of the meat sector I decided to make a change and in 2000 I decided to start a dairy sheep farm. This type of farming was very new and required a large investment, but I have to say that it's been one of the decisions I ever made..
For me, COVAP is: Support by farmers and for farmers, especially when things get difficult, and that gives us a real sense of security.
His words: Sacrifice, hard work and dedication on a daily basis.
Juan Jesús Cano Herruzo

Francisca Ruiz
Dairy Goat Farmer
Her story: My husband and I thought about starting our own business and we started with a dairy sheep farm but it didn't work out as we expected and so we decided to try dairy goats since we could use the facilities and were reluctant to close the farm for good. Today we still have the goats and are very happy we kept going and continued our journey.
For me, COVAP is: Support by farmers and for farmers, especially when things get difficult, because it gives us a real sense of security.
Her words: Sacrifice, hard work and dedication on a daily basis.
Carlos Jesús Torrico
Dairy Goat Farmer
His story: Ever since I was a child, there have always been sheep and pigs in my family, as my mother is a farmer and my grandparents were also farmers. This familiarity with livestock made me decide two years ago to set up my own dairy goat herd with goats of the Murciano-Granadina breed.
For me, COVAP is: COVAP is my home, it means security, wellbeing and a guarantee for the future.
His words: Consistency, and always taking joy and pride in continuous improvement.
